Vertical Bore VB500A
The VB Series machines are industrial-quality boring mills designed specifically for automotive use. Their advanced design and rigid construction deliver superior accuracy over conventional boring bars. The extensive operator-convenience features greatly speed the boring process.
All VB Series machines have stationary boring heads with movable tables. Because the boring heads do not move, they are very sturdy and provide exceptional machining accuracy.
Set-up times are minimal because of the excellent universal holding fixtures and the highly functional design of the tables. They can be moved side-to-side and fore-and-aft to center each cylinder quickly even if the block is not mounted square on the table. A dial indicator integral to the boring head shows when each cylinder is centered perfectly for boring.
To extend tool life and permit close control of the surface finish, boring RPM and feed rate are adjustable through a wide range. This makes the VB Series machines very good for large overbores which require two passes. The first cut can be made very deep and fast to minimize the need for the second cut.
The micrometric manual feed allows accurate depth control for counterboring cylinder sleeves. All VB Series machines have adjustable automatic boring stops which free the operator to perform other tasks. The VB160SF has automatic retraction of the boring head while the VB420SF and VB500A have operator activated rapid retraction.

For the big jobs! This machine has an infinitely variable spindle rotation, table traverse, and boring feed. An added exclusive WVN feature is electronic Dual Axis Variable Speed movement of the table. This allows the operator to position the workpiece with joystick controls on the control panel, dramatically reducing the effort required to center the spindle in cylinders for boring operation setup.
