Magnetic Particle Inspection MPI96

The Winona Van Norman MP196 Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI) system is engineered to accurately detect surface cracks and other defects in ferrous metal components using proven non-destructive testing (NDT) technology. Designed for professional inspection applications, the MP196 helps ensure the integrity and reliability of critical engine and industrial components before they are returned to service.
As an A.C.-powered MPI machine, the MP196 eliminates residual magnetism in inspected parts, making it ideal for components such as crankshafts that require a magnetism-free finish. Unlike D.C. systems, the MP196 does not require polarity reversal for demagnetization, reducing inspection time while also providing the ability to demagnetize parts that have already been magnetized (HOT).
Built for versatility, the MP196 is capable of inspecting a wide range of ferrous metal components, including crankshafts, connecting rods, camshafts, gears, struts, spindles, bolts, and many other critical parts. Delivering up to 7,300 amps at the coil and equipped with a standard 16-inch diameter inspection coil, the MP196 provides the power, precision, and reliability professional machine shops demand for thorough, consistent inspections.

Product Information
Operations
The MPI96 is an A.C. machine. Unlike D.C. units, parts will not retain residual magnetism which is critical to some parts such as crankshafts. A.C. machines do not require reversing polarity to demagnetize, thus less time is spent in inspection. The MPI96 can, however be used to demagnetized parts that are already magnetized (HOT).
The MPI96 is versatile, permitting inspection of a wide variety of parts such as crankshafts, connecting rods, camshafts, gears, struts, spindles, bolts, and other types of ferrous metal parts.
