Line Hone – LHX

The Winona Van Norman LHX Line Hone is engineered to restore main bearing bores to precise alignment, size, and surface finish, ensuring the accuracy required for today’s demanding engine rebuilding applications. Designed for professional engine builders, remanufacturing facilities, and high-performance machine shops, the LHX precisely corrects main bore distortion caused by heat, stress, or improper fastener torque, returning engine blocks to factory specifications. Its advanced honing capabilities deliver the precision and repeatability needed for automotive, diesel, marine, and industrial engine applications.
Built for exceptional accuracy, the LHX produces perfectly aligned main bearing bores with superior surface finishes, ensuring proper crankshaft bearing fitment, consistent oil clearance, and uniform bearing contact. By restoring critical bore geometry, the machine helps reduce friction, improve oil film stability, minimize premature bearing wear, and extend engine life. The LHX is available with either a manually operated carriage or a power-driven carriage, allowing machine shops to choose the configuration that best fits their production requirements and workflow. Its rigid construction, precision honing system, and intuitive controls enable technicians to consistently achieve outstanding results while improving efficiency and reducing setup and machining time.
Designed for years of dependable performance, the Winona Van Norman LHX Line Hone combines rugged construction, precision engineering, and reliable operation to maximize productivity while minimizing rework. Whether rebuilding production engines or high-performance racing engines, the LHX delivers the accuracy, repeatability, and long-term reliability professional machine shops rely on to produce superior engine rebuilds with confidence.
