Surface Milling / Grinding SM101
The SM101 and SM200 deliver fast, accurate grinding of all heads and blocks from gasoline and diesel engines. All machines feature reciprocating tables with stationary grinding heads. This design is universally accepted as the most rigid configuration to provide precision grinding. Accurate performance is further enhanced by the massive base castings, sturdy column assemblies, and precisely machined ways. These features, combined with the high-power wheelhead motors, also promote rapid stock removal because sufficient cuts can be taken without harming surface finish or accuracy.
All machines feature variable traversing speeds for careful control of the surface finish. The three larger models have hydraulically powered tables which can be adjusted for any desired rate of traverse.
Tables on all models can be set to reciprocate automatically. The SM101 and SM200 also feature automatic wheelhead down feed, thus the operator can perform other tasks while the machine grinds unattended. With their standard set-up fixtures, the MG Series Grinders can accommodate a wide variety of head or block castings. In addition, milling attachments are available allowing aluminum casting to be machined if desired.
