Reboring LBX

The Winona Van Norman LBX Line Boring Machine is engineered to provide a complete, high-precision solution for reboring main bearing bores in engine blocks. Designed for professional engine rebuilding, remanufacturing, and high-performance machine shops, the LBX restores main bearing alignment to exact factory specifications, ensuring proper crankshaft fit, bearing geometry, and long-term engine reliability. Its rigid cast iron construction and precision engineering deliver the stability and accuracy required for automotive, diesel, marine, and industrial engine applications.
Built for precision and ease of operation, the LBX features a heavy-duty cast frame and twin pneumatic lift cylinders that make loading and positioning engine blocks fast and efficient. Engine blocks are securely referenced by the pan rails against precision parallel pads, while centering cones simplify initial boring bar alignment. Fine dovetail-mounted adjustment screws and a dial indicator/comparator allow the boring bar to be positioned with exceptional accuracy, and the boring head features its own precision dovetail adjustments for exact cutter placement. The ability to rebore multiple main bearing journals in a single setup significantly reduces machining time while improving overall consistency.
Designed to maximize productivity and minimize maintenance, the Winona Van Norman LBX utilizes replaceable carbide cutters that eliminate the downtime and expense associated with resharpening cutting tools. Combining rugged construction, precision alignment systems, and efficient operation, the LBX delivers the accuracy, repeatability, and long-term reliability professional machine shops rely on to produce superior line boring results and consistently high-quality engine rebuilds.
